Kartell Labware
Kartell is one of the first companies in Europe to start using plastic materials for the production of designer furniture, furnishing accessories and home accessories.
In the late 1950s, the evolution in experimentation with technological design led with great intuition to the creation of the Labware division for the supply of technical objects for laboratories; a division that can make the best use of materials such as polypropylene, polystyrene, polyethylene and offers plastic as a valid alternative to glass due to its lightness, strength, economy and safety.
Kartell uses more than forty different plastic materials to realize its Labware products. The choice of plastics it uses depends on the different product applications; for this reason, elements such as concentrations and times of contact with chemical agents, aging, thermal stress, aggressive detergents, exposure to U.V. are important in the production process. radiation, sterilization and other environmental influences.
